SUMMARY:K-12 Teachers STEM Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The SMART FIRES Education and Outreach team will host an educational workshop for K-12 teachers as part of the STEM Summer Institute. The workshop will be led by education staff from the Montana State University Science Math Resource Center and spectrUM Discovery Area. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will include an overview of SMART FIRES research as well as some of the educational and outreach opportunities available for teachers. We will showcase a few short activities that teachers can do in their classrooms; discuss citizen science possibilities; and request information from teachers on what is most useful to them going forward.

SUMMARY:SMART FIRES Data Lake Training Session
DESCRIPTION:The SMART FIRES (SF) data lake–a premier team data storage resource for big data–is now ready to use! A data lake is a lightly structured resource for use with active internal (i.e.\, non-public) data. This will be of particular importance to researchers generating\, managing\, and sharing large datasets.
