Montana State University researchers received grants to advance automation and optical sensing technologies for environmental monitoring and decision-making. The work aligns with Montana NSF EPSCoR’s SMART FIRES project, which uses advanced sensors, data analysis and AI to better understand fire behavior, smoke impacts and wildfire resilience across Montana.
