‘Deeply Meaningful’: UM Names First Female Dean of W.A. Franke College of Forestry

The University of Montana named Libby Metcalf the first female dean in the 112-year history of the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation. A leader in community resilience and natural resource management, Metcalf also co-leads Montana NSF EPSCoR’s SMART FIRES project, advancing science and collaboration to expand responsible prescribed fire use across Montana.
