Morgan Hasenmyer, a doctoral student in MSU’s Optical Remote Sensor Laboratory, has received a 2026 Women in Optics Scholarship from SPIE. One of only five recipients worldwide, she is recognized for her SMART FIRES-funded research using polarization imaging to improve aerosol and wildfire smoke monitoring.
